NeoCon 2017 Recap

Last year’s NeoCon was something for the record books for Tarkett North America, so it was essential that 2017’s edition was bigger and better than ever. Tarkett North America didn’t disappoint, as we shined brighter than ever.

The event kicked off with the introduction of our new, massive, combined showroom. For the first time at NeoCon, each of Tarkett North America’s brands were featured in one permanent showroom together. The new nearly 10,000-square-foot showroom is located on the third floor, and it immediately makes an impact on all who see it.

Tarkett North America highlighted several themes at NeoCon: The Powerbond 50th Anniversary; Doing Good, our new sustainability campaign; and Innovation and Co-Creation. Sustainability, Innovation and Powerbond videos played on monitors throughout the showroom, and our Co-Create message was emblazoned on the Tarkett NeoCon attendee bags, which were the unofficial winner of “best bag of the show.”

Events that drew crowds

During NeoCon we hosted a variety of events in our showroom, including the Contract Inspirations Awards, a Monday cocktail reception and a Tuesday morning Bloody Mary Bar. Also on Tuesday, Chris Stulpin, Senior Vice President of Design, moderated a panel discussion with Suzanne Tick and Jhane Barnes, called Trends, Textiles and Technology. During the panel discussion Suzanne and Jhane discussed their design processes, how they create products for Tarkett, and where they see the industry’s products in five years.

We invited the thousands of guests in our showroom to help us co-create a mosaic wall mural by taking photos of themselves, uploading them to social media, and tagging them with #doinggood or #tarkett. By the end of the day Tuesday, the mural was complete. More than 4,000 photos were used to create the mosaic, which will be used for the ultimate in co-creation as a digitally printed LVT.

New products from wall to wall

Filling nearly 10,000 square feet of showroom space can be daunting, but each of Johnsonite, Tandus Centiva, and Desso’s new products were on eloquent display. Guests were treated to first looks 32 newly launched styles, three of which took home awards.
